Default Host Rule

The following rules are for Hosting SBG matches / events.

General Hosting Rules - Host Suitability

  1. Home team (challenging team) has the first option to host the match.
  2. The hosting team must offer an opportunity for a 'lag test' to the opposing team prior to the start of match play.
  3. If the opposing team is not satisfied (satisfied meaning - multiple players that are experiencing unplayable lag, considerable bullet lag, or players routinely dropping - One player experiencing issues does not make a host unsatisfactory) with the host provided by the hosting team, they may request another host. The second host shall be supplied by the original hosting team and another lag test performed. If the second host is not suitable, the original hosting team shall supply a 3rd host and another lag test performed. If the hosting team exhausts 3 attempts to host, the opposing team will have the option to host. They will have 3 attempts to supply a satisfactory host.
  4. If a satisfactory host cannot be found, a SBG staff host may be requested in order to complete the match. Be aware that SBG staff hosts may not be readily available and the match may be postponed to a date/time that is conducive to the staff host.
  5. If a SBG staff host cannot be provided, the number of players competing in the match will be reduced by 1 on each side (i.e. 6v6 will be reduced to 5v5) and the original hosting team will have 3 opportunities to supply an adequate host in accordance with Rule #2 above.
  6. Once the opposing team has deemed the host satisfactory, the map will be played in its entirety before a complaint about the host can be made.
  7. Network conditions frequently and routinely vary over time. A host that starts a match with no issues may develop issues as the match progresses. A request to change hosts may be made in accordance with rule 6 above. The original hosting team will have 2 more opportunities to provide an adequate host (the first match host counts toward their 3 opportunities as stated above).
